Job Opportunity: Senior State Accountant (Financial Accounting)
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is responsible for providing public healthcare services to the people of the Western Cape province. We are currently looking for two dedicated professionals to join our team as Senior State Accountants.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A recognized three-year National Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Auditing.
- Experience: Previous experience working in an accounting environment and preparing financial statements.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with BAS, LOGIS, and other financial support systems is a strong advantage.
- Licenses: A valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
- Travel: You must be willing to travel as required for the role.
Key Competencies and Skills
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Extensive knowledge of how to compile professional Financial Statements.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets), Word (report writing), and PowerPoint (presentations).
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- A deep understanding of accounting principles and Accrual Accounting.
- Knowledge of Modified Cash Standard (MCS), Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
