Environmental Internship
Glencore is one of the world’s largest global natural resource companies. As a leader in the production and marketing of commodities, we operate a diverse portfolio of industrial assets. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Environmental Intern in the North West province.
Role Overview
In this role, you will help ensure our operations meet all environmental standards. You will work closely with the safety and environment team to monitor site activities, report on compliance, and promote a culture of environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly site audits to ensure legal compliance and prepare detailed reports.
- Accurately capture and manage environmental data using company systems.
- Support the team during investigations into environmental incidents.
- Promote environmental awareness throughout the site.
- Maintain and update environmental risk assessments and risk registers.
- Strictly follow all company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
Requirements
- A Degree or Diploma in Environmental Management or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Medical fitness to work in high-risk industrial environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work independently.
- A results-driven approach with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
