About the Role

PepsiCo is a global leader in the food and beverage industry, home to iconic brands like Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, and Frito-Lay. We are currently looking for a senior Specialised Artisan to join our team at the Epping Bakery.

In this senior role, you will provide expert technical support and guidance to all artisans on-site. You will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of advanced automated systems, ensuring our production lines run efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and Setup: Configure electrical and automation systems, including industrial PCs, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on automated equipment to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and fix technical faults in automated, robotic, and control systems.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical records, including schematics, control panel designs, and calibration procedures.
• Technical Support: Assist production teams with the operation and maintenance of specialized machinery.
• System Improvement: Work with the engineering team to find ways to improve current processes and systems.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and variable speed drives (VSDs).
• Electrical Skills: A strong background in electrical work, including the ability to read and create schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Programming: Proficiency in industrial automation software and standard PLC programming languages.
• Analytical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting and collaborating with different departments.
