Assistant Store Manager: Miladys Garden Route
Mr Price Group (MRPG) is a leading fashion retailer in South Africa, specializing in apparel, homeware, and sportswear. We are currently looking for a motivated and disciplined Assistant Store Manager to lead our Miladys branch in the Garden Route. The successful candidate will manage daily operations, drive sales targets, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
- Oversee the accurate receipt and unpacking of new stock.
- Monitor stock levels through regular counts to prevent loss and ensure products are available for customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
- Manage and authorize stock write-offs, returns, and recalls.
Sales and Profitability
- Analyze sales reports to create action plans that increase store performance.
- Keep track of top-selling products and provide feedback to the support center.
- Identify local opportunities to increase brand awareness and drive new memberships.
- Monitor store expenses to ensure profitability.
Risk and Compliance
- Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure the store follows company policies.
- Maintain health, safety, and security standards within the store.
- Oversee point-of-sale (POS) reports and administrative compliance.
Customer Experience
- Ensure the sales floor is well-merchandised and promotions are correctly displayed.
- Handle customer feedback and ensure a high standard of service at all times.
- Manage markdowns and repricing accurately.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead the store team to achieve daily goals and long-term strategy.
- Identify training needs and coach staff to help them grow within the company.
- Assist with recruitment and manage staff performance in line with company values.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- At least 3 years of experience in a retail management or assistant management role.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs.
- A solid understanding of retail trends, customer service, and stock control.
