Assistant Store Manager: Mr Price Cellular (Mall@Mfula)

Mr Price Group (MRPG) is a leading fashion retailer in South Africa, specializing in apparel, homeware, and sportswear. We are looking for a vibrant, self-disciplined Assistant Store Manager to lead our team at the Mall@Mfula branch in Mpumalanga. In this role, you will manage daily operations, drive sales targets, and ensure our customers receive the best service possible.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management

• Oversee the receiving and unpacking of stock to ensure the sales floor is always well-stocked.
• Monitor stock levels through regular counts and audits to prevent stock loss.
• Maintain an organized and clean stockroom.
• Authorize stock write-offs, breakages, and returns.

Sales and Profitability

• Analyze sales reports to develop plans that increase store performance.
• Monitor store expenses and find ways to grow the brand in the local community.
• Keep track of product performance and provide feedback to the support center.
• Drive new customer accounts and memberships.

Risk Management and Compliance

• Conduct regular administrative and security checks.
• Ensure the store follows all health, safety, and operational policies.
• Manage store audits and visual standards.

Customer Experience

• Ensure the store is clean, organized, and follows visual merchandising standards.
• Manage promotions, price changes, and markdowns effectively.
• Handle customer feedback to maintain high service standards.

Leadership and Team Development

• Motivate the team to achieve store goals and KPIs.
• Identify training needs and help staff develop their skills.
• Manage staff recruitment and performance according to company policy.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a store management or assistant management position.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in basic computer software.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge: A solid understanding of retail trends, products, and customer service.
