Role Overview

We are looking for a professional Administrative Officer to act as a Disability Assistant specifically supporting the visually impaired. This role involves a mix of direct support services and general office administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Manage and deliver administrative services.
  • Assist with disability awareness campaigns, special events, and training programs.

Job Requirements

  • A recognized Bachelor’s Degree or NQF Level 6 qualification.
  • An additional qualification in Public Administration is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • A valid driver’s license (this is not required for persons with disabilities).

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with disability services, orientation and mobility skills, and financial policies (PFMA).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal relations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in standard office computer software.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to handle conflict, manage time effectively, and solve work-related challenges.
  • Professionalism: Strong leadership, project management, and customer service focus.
