Role Overview
We are seeking a professional State Accountant to join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. The successful candidate will ensure that procurement processes are handled efficiently and in compliance with government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of the department’s procurement plan.
- Draft detailed specifications and terms of reference for required goods and services.
- Manage the registration of suppliers in the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
- Conduct thorough price analysis to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- A recognized undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6 or equivalent).
- A qualification in Supply Chain Management or Financial Management is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license (accommodations made for persons with disabilities).
Knowledge and Skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the PFMA and the legislative frameworks governing Public Service.
- Financial Skills: Experience in financial reporting, price analysis, and production processes.
- Leadership: Strong capability in project management, change management, and strategic planning.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical thinking skills.
- Technical Proficiency: High level of computer literacy and experience with financial systems.
