Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable Financial Clerk to serve as a Cashier. The successful candidate will handle state funds, maintain accurate records, and ensure all financial transactions are processed according to regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle cashier duties, including issuing receipts and the safekeeping of state money.
  • Perform daily banking of collected funds.
  • Maintain and update all relevant financial registers.
  • Prepare and provide consolidated financial reports.
  • Capture revenue transactions accurately into the financial system.
  • Prepare payments for provincial services and cash collection providers.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in computer use.
  • A valid driver’s license (this requirement is waived for persons with disabilities).
  • Added Advantage: A formal qualification in Financial Management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
  • Basic knowledge of financial information systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage debt and financial records efficiently.
