Role Overview
The National School of Government (NSG) is looking for a reliable and professional Driver. The successful candidate will support the department by providing safe transportation and ensuring that official vehicles are well-maintained and used according to regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 10 (Standard 8) or an equivalent qualification.
- License: A valid Code 08 manual driver’s license. A Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is a distinct advantage.
- Experience: At least 7 to 12 months of relevant driving experience.
Key Knowledge and Skills
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ability to perform basic checks, such as monitoring oil and water levels or changing a flat tire.
- Logistics: Familiarity with obtaining trip authorities, completing logbooks, and managing vehicle consumables like petrol.
- Compliance: Knowledge of the rules and procedures for the correct use and maintenance of motor vehicles.
- Geography: Good general geographic knowledge of the Pretoria area and surrounding regions.
- Technology: Basic understanding of computers, including MS Office, Outlook, and the internet.
