Shop Assistant / Cashier – Clicks Lusikisiki
Role Overview
Clicks Group is a leading retail healthcare provider with over 840 stores across southern Africa. We are looking for a dedicated Shop Assistant / Cashier for our Lusikisiki branch. The primary goal of this position is to provide excellent customer service, manage point-of-sale transactions efficiently, and assist with merchandising to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all point-of-sale (POS) activities accurately and efficiently.
- Scan merchandise and collect payments, ensuring all ClubCard rewards are processed.
- Manage cash safely and securely at all times.
- Encourage customers to join the Clicks ClubCard program to meet store targets.
- Inform customers about current promotions and deals to help them “feel good and pay less.”
- Act as a brand ambassador by offering friendly, professional, and visible service.
- Keep the store clean and organized through regular merchandising and housekeeping duties.
- Stay informed about products, prices, and store events to provide accurate information to shoppers.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Essential: A Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Preferred: A minimum of 50% in Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and numeracy skills.
- Problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- The ability to follow instructions and store procedures accurately.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet customer expectations.
- A persuasive personality with a focus on teamwork.
