Job Overview

Minimum Requirements

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6 or higher) in Public Management or Fleet Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in Government or Public Sector Fleet Management.
  • A valid driver’s license (minimum Code B).

Knowledge and Skills

The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of departmental policies and South African legislation, including:

  • The Republic of South Africa Constitution and the Public Service Act.
  • The Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • National and Provincial Fleet Management policies and Transversal Fleet Management contracts.
  • The National Road Traffic Act and related traffic legislation.
  • Supply Chain Management practices and Performance Management systems.

Key Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Fleet Management software (Hardcat).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and report-writing abilities.
  • Leadership: Strong people management, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills, financial management, and organizational research capabilities.
