Job Overview
We are looking for a professional and dedicated Assistant Unit Leader to join our team in Lenasia. In this role, you will help lead our clinical team, ensure high standards of patient care, and manage daily operations within the unit.
Requirements and Experience
- A relevant qualification in a specialist medical area (NQF Level 7).
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, or registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice).
- Previous experience in renal nursing is highly recommended.
- The ability to maintain health practice standards according to accredited guidelines and legislation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform dialysis treatments safely and according to prescription, following all internal policies.
- Provide high-quality patient care within the nursing scope of practice.
- Manage and maintain medical equipment according to technical procedures.
- Implement NRC quality programs to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records.
- Oversee unit finances, including billing, stock management, and waste control.
- Lead daily shifts and supervise staff members on the floor.
- Promote and demonstrate the core values of National Renal Care.
