Technician: Project Management Unit

Greater Giyani Municipality, located within the Mopani District of Limpopo, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Giyani, focused on supporting our Project Management Unit (PMU) and ensuring the successful delivery of local infrastructure projects.

Position Overview

• Job Type: Full Time
• Location: Limpopo
• Salary: R415,093.43 – R493,728.79 per annum (Post Level 7, excluding benefits)
• Field: Project Management / Civil Engineering

What You Need to Qualify

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A B-Tech or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience specifically within a Project Management Unit (PMU).
• A valid driver’s license is essential.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technician, your daily tasks will involve oversight, coordination, and administrative support for municipal projects. Your duties include:

• Project Oversight: Monitoring project progress and providing regular status reports.
• Financial Management: Assisting with budget tracking and financial compliance for projects.
• Compliance & Data: Ensuring all project documentation and data meet regulatory standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating effectively with community members and project stakeholders.
• Technical Support: Providing administrative and technical expertise to the engineering team.
• Supervision: Leading and managing junior staff members to achieve department goals.
