The Limpopo Department of Social Development is committed to transforming society by building conscious and capable citizens through integrated social development services. We are currently seeking a professional and dedicated Assistant Director for Demand and Acquisition to join our Head Office team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing procurement planning and acquisition processes. Your main duties will include:

  • Ensuring procurement plans are effectively aligned with the Department’s strategic objectives.
  • Managing the end-to-end acquisition and bidding processes.
  • Promoting and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A recognized NQF level 6 qualification (Degree or National Diploma) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Purchasing Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience at a supervisory or junior management level.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).

Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, PPPFA, BBBEE Act, and SCM Instruction Notes.
  • Proficiency in LOGIS or similar procurement systems.
  • Strong financial management and report-writing abilities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability in planning, organizing, and problem-solving.
  • High standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and people management skills.
  • Conflict management and stakeholder engagement expertise.
