Key Performance Areas

As a Community Development Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and starting community development projects in partnership with local residents and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with relevant partners to ensure that community projects remain sustainable and effective.
  • Providing administrative support for community development activities.
  • Staying updated on new trends and developments in the field to improve service delivery.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A recognized qualification (NQF level 6 or equivalent) in Development Studies.
  • License: A valid motor vehicle driver’s license (this requirement does not apply to persons with disabilities).

Personal Profile and Skills

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Community Knowledge: Understanding of community behavior, social dynamics, and relevant legislation.
  • Leadership: The ability to coordinate community structures and encourage people to participate in self-empowerment projects.
  • Financial Awareness: A basic understanding of financial management.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literacy and experience in project management and research.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and give presentations.
