About the Role

The Limpopo Department of Social Development is looking for a dedicated Community Development Practitioner. Our mission is to transform society by building conscious and capable citizens through integrated social development services. In this role, you will work directly with communities to identify needs and implement development projects that create lasting change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead community development projects in partnership with local residents and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to ensure community projects are sustainable.
  • Provide administrative support for community development activities.
  • Stay updated on new trends and best practices in community development to improve service delivery.

Requirements

  • A recognized NQF Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in Development Studies.
  • A valid driver’s license (this requirement may be waived for persons with disabilities).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Community Focus: Deep understanding of community dynamics, human behavior, and social systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to coordinate community structures and motivate groups to participate in self-empowerment projects.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and facilitate meetings.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literacy and basic knowledge of financial management.
  • Project Management: Experience in research and managing community projects from start to finish.
