Job Overview

Siyancuma Municipality is seeking a qualified Artisan Plumber for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of water systems, as well as supervising a small team to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

• Trade Tested Artisan – Plumber (NQF Level 6).
• A valid Code EC driving license.
• Relevant experience in plumbing maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Repairs and Installations

• Manage the repair, maintenance, and installation of water meters, pipes, and manholes.
• Investigate water leaks and faulty meter readings.
• Inspect plumbing systems, joints, and welds for defects.
• Perform maintenance on PRV valves and service water meters.
• Identify and fix leaks by removing and replacing defective pipe sections.
• Diagnose technical and electrical faults affecting water control valves and pumps.

Supervision and Leadership

• Monitor staff performance, productivity, and workplace discipline.
• Conduct meetings and counseling to motivate personnel and improve output.
• Coordinate with senior management to ensure enough resources and staff are available for tasks.
• Resolve workplace conflicts and follow official disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Communication and Reporting

• Inspect all work before it is completed and signed off.
• Keep the immediate supervisor informed about testing, adjustments, and the functionality of water systems.
