Role Summary

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service, ensuring the store is well-merchandised, and leading the team to meet sales targets. You will also take full responsibility for the store in the Store Manager’s absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Store Operations: Manage daily banking, oversee the cash office, and ensure all front-end controls are strictly followed.
• Management Support: Step in for the Store Manager when needed and assist in managing and motivating the staff.
• Store Standards: Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping and merchandising to ensure a great shopping experience.
• Loss Prevention: Implement security measures and shrinkage controls to minimize stock loss.
• Sales & Service: Lead sales initiatives to reach store targets and ensure every customer receives top-quality service.
• Compliance: Ensure the store follows all company procedures, discipline, and safety protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
• Experience: Proven experience in managing people or leading a department. Experience in clothing retail is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills.
• Leadership: A proactive decision-maker who can plan effectively and maintain high productivity.
• Personal Attributes: Honest, ethical, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about retail.
