The Eastern Cape Department of Public Works and Infrastructure (DPWI) is responsible for managing and developing the province’s public buildings and infrastructure. The department drives development through construction, property management, and maintenance projects, including the refurbishment of schools and hospitals.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Matric certificate.
- A valid Trade Test Certificate within the built environment.
- At least ten (10) years of experience after qualifying as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman.
- A valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Management
Lead and guide technical services in the field and in workshops. Ensure all work is performed safely according to legal requirements and that all projects meet quality standards.
Maintenance Oversight
Manage the servicing of technical equipment and facilities. Oversee the maintenance of technical infrastructure and ensure daily preventative maintenance tasks are completed.
Administrative and Financial Duties
Provide input for the budgeting process and monitor spending trends. Compile and submit progress reports, contribute to operational plans, and keep departmental databases updated.
People Management
Supervise staff by developing work plans and conducting performance reviews. Mentor and coach team members, identify training needs, and manage human and physical resources effectively.
