What We Are Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate, or a Grade 10 / NQF 3 qualification with at least one year of related work experience.
• Fluent in English and the primary local language of the Queenstown area.
• A valid South African ID or a valid work permit.
• The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• The ability to maintain high performance while working under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

As a General Assistant, your primary focus will be supporting store operations and ensuring a great shopping experience for our customers. Your duties will include:

1. Customer Service

• Assisting customers with product inquiries and providing advice on the right materials for their needs.
• Helping to resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.

2. Merchandising and Stock Management

• Organizing and stocking shelves according to the store layout and planograms.
• Ensuring all products are safely displayed in both bulk and retail areas.
• Applying correct price labels to all items in your assigned area.
• Reporting any damaged stock to the Store Manager immediately to help manage stock loss.

3. Store Housekeeping and Safety

• Keeping aisles clean, organized, and free of obstacles to ensure customer safety.
• Following health and safety (OHSA) requirements, including the use of safety gear.
• Completing cleaning checklists for facilities like the canteen and restrooms.
• Reporting any safety risks or discrepancies to management.
