Sushi Assistant – Brackenfell, Western Cape

Role Purpose

As a Sushi Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily production of high-quality sushi. You will work closely with the Sushi Chef to ensure our customers receive fresh, delicious products while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production and Sales

• Follow the weekly production plan to boost sales and minimize food waste.
• Prepare sushi recipes accurately according to company standards.
• Keep the workspace clean and organized at all times.
• Help prepare for promotional events and special offers.

Food Safety and Hygiene

• Follow all food safety procedures and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Ensure the cold chain is maintained to keep fish fresh.
• Prevent cross-contamination by following proper handling techniques.

Administration

• Assist with monthly stocktakes to track inventory.
• Perform daily scans of waste items.

Professionalism

• Take ownership of your tasks and manage your time effectively.
• Stay updated on new industry developments and food regulations.
• Maintain a positive attitude and be open to feedback.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
• Experience: Hands-on experience in cutting and filleting fish.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of fish varieties and preparation techniques.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Location: Applicants must live close to the Brackenfell store.
