Job Purpose
As an Auditor II, you will perform advanced audits to ensure tax compliance. Your goal is to raise accurate assessments based on relevant legislation and identify potential risks within the illicit economy.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum criteria:
- A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) in Auditing or Taxation.
- At least 4 years of experience in Tax Auditing or Forensic Financial Investigative Auditing.
Key Responsibilities
Audit and Analysis
- Conduct advanced audits from planning to finalization using SARS systems and standard procedures.
- Analyze complex transactions across multiple tax types and entities to understand tax implications.
- Extract and evaluate data from internal and external sources to identify non-compliance.
- Use digital tools and forensic services to address advanced tax risks, including e-commerce transactions.
Risk and Reporting
- Identify new tax risks and trends that may require new audit focus areas.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on audit findings.
- Escalate serious tax offenses for potential criminal investigation and testify in court if required.
Collaboration and Support
- Work with Debt Management to ensure the collection of liabilities identified during audits.
- Engage with Litigation and Dispute Management regarding the interpretation of tax legislation.
- Provide specialist input to help optimize operational processes and audit products.
- Assist Client Services in resolving complex taxpayer complaints or queries.
Technical Skills and Competencies
- Deep knowledge of Tax Law and Audit Methodologies.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and data collection.
- Excellent business writing and communication skills.
- High level of analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Commitment to honesty, integrity, and transparency.
