Role Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Manager of Skills Development to lead our training and growth initiatives. In this role, you will ensure that our staff have the necessary skills to provide excellent service. You will align training programs with our strategic goals and help employees grow in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Use industry trends to make informed decisions that improve municipal services.
- HR Integration: Ensure skills development is a core part of the municipality’s Human Resources strategy and Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
- Program Management: Identify skill gaps and implement learning programs that improve efficiency and service quality.
- Employee Support: Provide career planning and development guidance to all staff members.
- Community Growth: Create learning opportunities that benefit the local community as part of our social responsibility.
- Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and submit the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) according to legal requirements.
- Budgeting: Assessment post-training results to help plan future training budgets effectively.
- Relationship Building: Maintain professional partnerships with accredited training providers.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including experience in a supervisory role.
- Basic computer skills, specifically in MS Office.
- A valid driver’s license.
