About This Role

The Rand Water Institute is looking for a dedicated and well‑organized Administration Assistant. You will provide professional administrative support and coordination across Institute Support Services and related programmes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Post‑matric qualification in Administration or a related field (essential)
  • 2–4 years of general office administration experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative activities across the Rand Water Institute and its internal departments.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organise and coordinate internal and external meetings, including taking and distributing minutes.
  • Manage communication with service providers, project contributors and programme stakeholders.
  • Assist with programme and project coordination within Institute Support Services.
  • Prepare reports, documentation and presentations as required.
  • Support project prioritisation, scheduling and monitoring in collaboration with RWI teams.
  • Maintain and update operational risk registers, contract registers and intellectual property records.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organising and time‑management abilities.
  • Ability to liaise professionally with senior personnel and stakeholders.
  • Problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
  • Accurate typing skills and the ability to work under pressure.
