REQUIREMENTS (All Posts)

  • Demonstrate competence in the core functions of the role.
  • Speak at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • No previous criminal or departmental convictions; no pending cases.
  • Undergo vetting, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
  • Complete Grade 10 (Standard 8) / Basic Education and Training, NQF Level 3 (proof required).
  • Registered with PSIRA and hold at least a Grade C security certificate.
  • Fit to carry a firearm.
  • Willing to attend firearm competency training and maintain competency.
  • Willing to work shifts and extended hours.
  • Advantageous if you hold a degree/diploma in security services or related courses.
  • Valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence.

DUTIES (All Posts)

  • Implement access control under the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, 1985.
  • Confirm identity of employees, visitors, and contractors at access points.
  • Register and conduct electronic searches of all personnel.
  • Authorize entry after confirming all legislative requirements and provide escorts when necessary.
  • Issue and receive visitor admission control cards.
  • Maintain the visitors’ register.
  • Inspect suppliers, goods, articles, and objects before entering SAPS premises.
  • Patrol buildings, fenced areas, and designated security zones.
  • Guard vehicles and equipment (security perspective).
  • Inspect and monitor security equipment and facilities, taking action when required.
  • Report all security risks, irregularities, or deficiencies to senior security officials.
