Job Purpose

The General Assistant – Trolleys will support efficient airport operations by deploying, monitoring and safeguarding trolley equipment. The role ensures compliance with all safety, operational and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and report any unserviceable trolley equipment to relevant stakeholders.
  • Deploy and maintain trolley equipment on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Safeguard assets and manage risk exposure, implementing risk control measures as needed.
  • Prepare and submit operational constraints reports.
  • Track and report on trolley stock levels.
  • Count trolleys as required.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Assist and engage with customers when necessary.
  • Plan resources in line with demand and supply patterns.
  • Monitor resource utilisation to meet operational needs.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate – required.
  • Knowledge of manual task performance across a variety of settings.
  • Code B driver’s licence – advantageous for the Eastern Cape post.

Security and Compliance

  • Shortlisted candidates will need to provide proof of qualifications, including NQF level and credits.
  • Candidates must be eligible for Top Security Clearance within 3 months of appointment.
