About the Position

The Linesman role is essential to the construction, maintenance, and stability of Tshwane’s electrical distribution network. You will work on non‑energised networks, meeting project targets for time, cost, resources, and quality while strictly following the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).

Key Responsibilities

  • Use resources efficiently to keep projects cost‑effective and on schedule.
  • Build electrical networks that support reliable service delivery.
  • Maintain existing networks to ensure long‑term stability.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Work on a rotational basis across operational teams to develop multi‑skilling.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 qualification.
  • Completed Linesman and cable courses.
  • At least six months of relevant experience in local authority electrical networks.
  • Valid Code C1 driving licence with a valid PrDP.
  • Physical fitness and good health.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding operational and maintenance work.
  • Willingness to work shifts, standby, and overtime.
  • Willingness to be placed anywhere in Tshwane as required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check, including fingerprinting at own cost.
