2026 SABS Youth Development Programme: Finance (Credit Management)

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) is a statutory body responsible for maintaining standardization and quality in South Africa. We are currently inviting motivated, unemployed graduates to apply for our 12-month Youth Development Programme. This internship is focused on Finance and Credit Management and is scheduled to begin in April 2026.

This programme is designed to provide graduates with practical workplace exposure, professional mentoring, and learning opportunities that align with national skill priorities. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R8,000.00 for the duration of the 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

During this programme, you will participate in structured learning and gain hands-on experience. Your duties will include:

  • Engaging in training and development initiatives as part of the Youth Development Programme.
  • Gaining practical workplace experience through various assignments and departmental rotations.
  • Assisting with finance projects, research, and administrative tasks.
  • Applying your academic knowledge to a professional work environment.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors to meet objectives.
  • Submitting progress reports and completing required assessments.
  • Complying with all organizational policies and professional standards.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Must have completed a relevant Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum academic average of 80% for the completed qualification.
  • Must have no prior formal work experience related to your field of study.
  • Must be currently unemployed.
