About the Programme
Standard Bank’s CA(SA) Training Programme is a 36‑month rotational learning experience designed to develop the next generation of Chartered Accountants. The programme offers a unique pathway to becoming a CA(SA) outside of traditional auditing, with a focus on innovation, transformation, and lifelong learning.
Year‑by‑Year Experience
- First Year: Finance‑focused rotations that help you achieve SAICA competencies while gaining a holistic view of banking operations.
- Second Year: Personalised rotations tailored to your skills and SAICA competency needs, deepening expertise and broadening your foundation.
- Third Year: Explore your interests and complete SAICA competencies, preparing for permanent placement and excelling in your chosen path.
Support and Development
- Exam support for ITC and APC success.
- Leadership development through specialised initiatives.
- Continuous learning via our CA‑focused platform.
- Executive engagement sessions to explore business units and opportunities.
- Coaching and mentorship from senior leaders.
Qualifications
- Post‑graduate degree from a SICA‑accredited university.
- Completed or completing a SAICA‑accredited Certificate in the Theory of Accounting, Honours (HNS) in Accounting, Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA), or Graduate Diploma in Accounting (GDA).
- After passing GDA, CTA or PGDA, you must be eligible to write the IAC Board assessment.
- Applicants currently completing CTA Level 1 or BCTA (Bridging course into CTA) are not eligible.
