Role Overview

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport is seeking two qualified individuals to join the Revenue Control unit. The mission of the department is to provide a safe, affordable, and accessible road transportation system for the public. These roles are essential in maintaining financial systems and ensuring regulatory compliance within the provincial road network operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • A recognized Degree or Diploma (NQF Level 6 or higher) in Financial Accounting.
  • Between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Financial Services.
  • A valid driver’s license (Code EB or higher).

Required Knowledge and Skills

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of financial regulations and administrative procedures, including:

  • Financial Systems: Proficiency in PERSAL and BAS systems, as well as a solid understanding of SCOA.
  • Legislation: Knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and the Income Tax Act.
  • Administrative Skills: Advanced computer literacy (specifically Microsoft Excel and Word), with strong organizing and planning abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional reporting.
  • Professionalism: High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work decisively and honestly.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Labour Relations and departmental grievance procedures.
