About the Role
The Office of the Premier is committed to improving provincial planning, security, and government coordination. We are seeking a professional Administrative Officer to support our Employee Health and Wellness unit, specifically focusing on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Occupational Health and Safety Management or Environmental Health.
- At least three years of experience in an administrative or OHS support role, preferably within a public service environment.
Key Competencies
- Strong administrative skills and specialized knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and its regulations.
- A solid understanding of Public Service OHS policies, procurement procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and workplace safety standards.
Primary Duties
- Maintain and update essential OHS records, including incident reports, inspection checklists, and training registers.
- Organize OHS Committee meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assist in scheduling workplace inspections, risk assessments, and emergency evacuation drills.
- Support the implementation of OHS awareness campaigns and general employee wellness programs.
