Role Overview
We are looking for a professional and friendly Admissions Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a smooth admission process while handling administrative and financial tasks with accuracy and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients into the admissions area with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Explain payment procedures clearly, including the difference between medical aid coverage and private fees.
- Inform private patients about required deposits and ensure they understand the final balance is due upon discharge.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, visitors, and doctor requirements.
- Process deposits and issue receipts for services such as maternity bookings or planned surgeries.
- Manage cash collections and administrative controls according to company policy.
- Work effectively under pressure, both independently and without direct supervision.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Previous experience using the Delta 9 system is required.
- At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital environment.
- Proven knowledge of medical aids, pre-authorizations, and hospital admission processes.
- Ability to work shift work, including both day and night shifts.
- A proactive approach to work and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience operating a switchboard will be considered an advantage.
