Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Worker to support our embroidery and garment preparation team. In this role, you will handle various hands-on tasks, including cleaning garments, preparing materials, and packing finished products. The ideal candidate is a hardworking individual who can work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Handling and Preparation
- Move stock between different production areas as needed.
- Place garments onto embroidery machines and remove them once the branding is complete.
- Check that garments are properly cured and handled carefully during the process.
Quality Control and Finishing
- Unpack stock and check that the items match the job requirements.
- Remove loose threads and excess materials from embroidered items using scissors.
- Iron and clean garments to ensure they look professional before they are sent to customers.
- Perform final quality checks to ensure branding is accurate.
Packing and Material Cutting
- Fold and pack completed orders according to customer instructions.
- Count and verify quantities before sealing packages for delivery.
- Use cutting machines or scissors to cut materials according to specific templates.
Housekeeping
- Keep your workspace clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow all health and safety rules and report any hazards to management.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: A Matric certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Experience: A basic understanding of embroidery or manufacturing processes is an advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot mistakes and ensure high-quality work.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Manual Skills: Comfortable performing physical tasks and working with your hands.
