About the Role

The Purchasing Administrator will support the Operations Purchasing team by managing administrative purchasing activities efficiently and cost‑effectively. The role ensures compliance with technical requirements, safety, health, and environmental standards, and contributes to the overall supply chain strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage purchase orders, warranty claims, and related documentation.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and report any issues promptly.
  • Support the implementation of sustainable value‑creation strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new partners.
  • Assist in the development of process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for supplier development and inclusive procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage performance and personal learning within the team.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Office Management or Supply Chain qualification at NQF Level 4.
  • Valid South African driver’s licence.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an administrative and compliance environment, including sourcing and contract policies.
  • Familiarity with transactional procurement processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of SAP Purchasing systems.
  • Understanding of technical considerations for repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience with supply chain systems and applications.
