About the Role

Magnis UD Trucks Pretoria East is looking for an Apprentice – Level Year 1 to join our service team. You will report directly to the Service Manager and be responsible for repairing trucks and buses to dealer and distributor standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults quickly and accurately to support vehicle servicing.
• Use diagnostic equipment to examine vehicles.
• Follow DCSA procedures and keep accurate printouts.
• Explain faults and solutions clearly to customers.
• Work safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Limit vehicle downtime and handle breakdown calls as needed.
• Return vehicles to customers in neat, clean condition.
• Sign for parts in the parts department and return unused parts.
• Choose the most cost‑effective and accurate repair solution.
• Complete all required forms and documentation.
• Prepare reports and suggest improvements for promotional campaigns.
• Attend training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors.
• Assist with other duties as requested.

Specific Role Responsibilities

• Provide technical and diagnostic services in the service department.
• Maximise the use of modern diagnostic equipment.
• Discuss service details with customers when required.
• Perform servicing of electric equipment as needed.

• Attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 – Maths and Physical Science.
• N2 – Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Maths, Diesel Trade Theory.
