Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF 4 equivalent with English literacy.
- Technical Training: N2 Platers Theory and N2 Platers & Structural Steel Drawing.
- Certification: A Boilermaker Trade Certificate (Section 13 or 26D) recognized by the QCTO.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a qualified Boilermaker, Aide, or Apprentice within a mining or plant environment.
- Health & Security: Must be medically fit for the specific work area and have a clear security record.
- Bonus Skills: A valid Forklift or Mobile Crane driver’s license is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Construction
- Perform maintenance, installations, and construction tasks according to set standards.
- Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality and safety specifications.
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Attend to mechanical breakdowns and report any unresolved issues.
- Follow all company policies and maintenance schedules.
Administration and Reporting
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Keep records safe and organized according to company standards.
Safety and Compliance (SHE)
- Strictly follow Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards.
- Participate in risk assessments and take action to prevent workplace hazards.
- Promote a culture of safety and excellence within the team.
- Align work with international responsible mining principles.
Team and Financial Management
- Help drive cost-saving initiatives to keep operations efficient.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.
- Manage team performance and ensure fair work distribution.
