Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF 4 equivalent with English literacy.
• Technical Training: N2 Platers Theory and N2 Platers & Structural Steel Drawing.
• Certification: A Boilermaker Trade Certificate (Section 13 or 26D) recognized by the QCTO.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a qualified Boilermaker, Aide, or Apprentice within a mining or plant environment.
• Health & Security: Must be medically fit for the specific work area and have a clear security record.
• Bonus Skills: A valid Forklift or Mobile Crane driver’s license is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Construction

• Perform maintenance, installations, and construction tasks according to set standards.
• Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality and safety specifications.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Attend to mechanical breakdowns and report any unresolved issues.
• Follow all company policies and maintenance schedules.

Administration and Reporting

• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately.
• Keep records safe and organized according to company standards.

Safety and Compliance (SHE)

• Strictly follow Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and take action to prevent workplace hazards.
• Promote a culture of safety and excellence within the team.
• Align work with international responsible mining principles.

Team and Financial Management

• Help drive cost-saving initiatives to keep operations efficient.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.
• Manage team performance and ensure fair work distribution.
