Job Opportunity: Artisan Electrical

Bidvest Facilities Management, established in 2002, is a leader in infrastructure and facilities management. We are currently seeking a skilled Artisan Electrical to join our team in the Western Cape. This role is focused on providing high-quality maintenance and ensuring all electrical systems meet safety and operational standards.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will perform planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on specified equipment. The goal is to support our maintenance strategy and deliver excellent service to our clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site maintenance and accurately complete job cards.
  • Deliver maintenance services for electrical installations and minor building works.
  • Coordinate with the control center regarding maintenance tasks and alarm testing.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of electrical equipment according to set schedules.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with safety legislation and service level agreements.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or equipment problems.
  • Complete all work on time and to a high standard.
  • Provide regular progress updates to supervisors and clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Matric (Senior Certificate) and N3 – N6 in Electrical Engineering with a completed Trade Test.
  • Licenses: Valid South African Driver’s License and a Wireman’s License.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering maintenance.
  • Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of air breakers and PLCs.
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and knowledge of SAP.
  • Compliance: Strong understanding of the OHS Act.
