The Western Cape Department of Infrastructure is looking for two qualified Artisans to join our team at the Central Mechanical Workshop in Paarl. This role is essential for maintaining the vehicles and equipment used to build and improve infrastructure across the province.

Main Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding vehicles and construction equipment.
- Supervising Trade Worker Aids and Apprentices.
- Ensuring all work meets high quality and safety standards.
- Performing technical analysis and using computer applications where required.
- Handling administrative tasks such as completing log forms, timesheets, and writing reports.
- Initiating orders for parts and materials.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic.
- A valid Code EC driving license.
Knowledge and Skills
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Strong experience in maintaining diesel vehicles and earthmoving machinery.
- Practical mechanical skills for construction plant and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management abilities.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- A commitment to workplace safety and legal compliance.
