The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full accounting function up to the balance sheet level, ensuring all financial records are accurate and deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle accounting and costing preparation for designated companies.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for the Senior Accountant and management teams.
- Supervise junior staff members and ensure the team meets all operational deadlines.
- Manage the complete accounting process up to the balance sheet.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and perform reconciliations.
- Review and verify financial entries made by creditors and cash book clerks to ensure accuracy.
- Complete all assigned tasks with skill, diligence, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Education: Must hold a B.Comm or B.Compt Degree.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in an accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Experience with Accpac software is a significant advantage.
- Additional Advantage: Completion of articles with an audit firm is highly preferred.
