Job Overview

The Assistant Artisan is responsible for maintaining the overall effectiveness of the equipment and plant systems on-site. This role involves technical support, troubleshooting, and assisting with plant upgrades.

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment and systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Assist with system and plant upgrades.
• Participate in on-the-job training to improve technical skills.

Requirements

• Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a General Assistant in maintenance.
  • 1 year of experience working in a production plant environment.

Skills and Competencies

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Physically fit and able to work with heavy equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Reliable, accountable, and able to work well under pressure.

Working Conditions

• This is a shift-based position.
• You will be required to work weekends and Public Holidays when necessary.
• Candidates must be available for standby and overtime duty.
• The role involves working in a pressurized environment with heavy machinery.
