We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Catering Manager to join our team in the Western Cape. This role focuses on overseeing kitchen operations and managing functions while maintaining 5-star standards within budgetary limits.

Main Responsibilities
As the Assistant Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the daily management, planning, and control of the kitchen and event functions. Key duties include:
- Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure 5-star service and quality standards.
- Managing client events, including bookings, quoting, and reservations.
- Monitoring production costs and assisting with stock-taking of food items.
- Liaising with clients professionally via phone and email.
- Supervising revenue handling, invoicing, and following up on payments.
- Leading and managing housekeeping and kitchen staff.
- Ensuring all company policies and administrative tasks are completed by the required deadlines.
- Working overtime and shifts as needed to support business operations.
Requirements and Skills
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate, energetic, and committed to service excellence.
- Education: Matric and a relevant Culinary qualification are essential.
- Experience: 3 – 5 years in a similar role. Experience in a retirement environment or with à la carte service is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Must be proficient in MS Office.
- Leadership: Strong interpersonal, planning, and staff management skills.
- Financial Acumen: Ability to manage budgets, stock control, and basic financial reporting.
- Transport: Must have your own reliable transport.
