Role Summary
As the Assistant Director for Anti-Corruption and Fraud Prevention, you will be responsible for protecting the department’s integrity. You will implement anti-fraud policies, lead investigations into alleged corruption or mismanagement, and help build a culture of honesty and accountability.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Law, Forensic Investigations, Risk Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role focused on fraud prevention, risk management, or forensic investigations.
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and stop fraudulent activities.
- A solid understanding of relevant laws, such as the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act and the Public Service Anti-Corruption Strategy.
- The ability to work independently, maintain strict confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into reports of fraud, corruption, or poor administration within the Department.
- Policy Implementation: Put anti-corruption policies into action and suggest ways to strengthen internal controls and risk management.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track and evaluate all complaints received. Maintain detailed records of fraud cases and prepare quarterly reports on investigation outcomes.
- Process Improvement: Review internal processes to identify risks and recommend better oversight measures.
- Training & Support: Provide training to staff and partners on financial processes and fraud awareness.
- Management: Manage staff, finances, and assets in line with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
