The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) was established in 2019 following the merger of the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Trade and Industry. The department is dedicated to promoting economic growth, driving structural transformation, and facilitating trade and investment across South Africa.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Director to join our Clothing and Textiles division. This role is essential in supporting industrial growth and implementing strategies that strengthen the clothing and textile sector within South Africa.
Job Requirements
- Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Economics, Commerce, or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the Clothing and Textile industry, gained in either the public or private sector.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Proven experience in conducting detailed research and economic analysis.
- Ability to contribute to the development and review of industrial policies and strategies.
- Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships with industry stakeholders and partners.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in office software.
