Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Assistant Director to oversee Cluster 1 and Cluster 2. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial management support to public entities reporting to the Department.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accounting Sciences or a related field.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of supervisory experience specifically in the analysis of financial information and the performance of public entities.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Skills Development Act, and SETA Grant Regulations.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and high proficiency in computer literacy.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s licence is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Monitoring: Evaluate and analyze Annual Performance Plans (APP), Strategic Plans, and MTEF allocations for public entities.
- Reporting and Submissions: Prepare detailed financial submissions for Ministerial approval and compile comprehensive reports on the financial performance of assigned entities.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor quarterly and annual financial reports to ensure alignment with audit outcomes and legal frameworks.
- Administrative Support: Maintain a performance and compliance database and assist public entities in meeting the requirements of the PFMA and Treasury Regulations.
- Strategic Advice: Provide expert guidance to public entities to help improve the quality of their financial reporting and ensure compliance with Grant Regulations.
