Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating the implementation of Community Development programmes to ensure effective service delivery at the local level.
Key Requirements
- Education: Matric Certificate and a Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in Community Development, Development Studies, Public Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Community Development Worker or Practitioner.
- License: A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Community Development acts and local government legislative frameworks (MFMA, PFMA, Municipal Systems Act).
- Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and Public Service Regulations.
- Skills in conflict resolution, facilitation, and public participation.
- Proficiency in report writing, monitoring techniques, and planning.
- Computer literacy and a strong focus on customer service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve the interaction between the government and local communities.
- Review and identify the service delivery needs of households and communities.
- Manage and update household and community profiles.
- Promote and monitor community participation and advocacy programmes.
- Ensure government programmes are effectively communicated and accessible to the public.
