About the Organization

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and facilitating the implementation of Community Development programmes to ensure effective service delivery at the local level.

Key Requirements

• Education: Matric Certificate and a Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in Community Development, Development Studies, Public Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Community Development Worker or Practitioner.
• License: A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Community Development acts and local government legislative frameworks (MFMA, PFMA, Municipal Systems Act).
• Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles and Public Service Regulations.
• Skills in conflict resolution, facilitation, and public participation.
• Proficiency in report writing, monitoring techniques, and planning.
• Computer literacy and a strong focus on customer service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve the interaction between the government and local communities.
• Review and identify the service delivery needs of households and communities.
• Manage and update household and community profiles.
• Promote and monitor community participation and advocacy programmes.
• Ensure government programmes are effectively communicated and accessible to the public.
