The Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) is an independent body created by the National Health Amendment Act of 2013. Our mission is to ensure that both public and private health facilities in South Africa meet the required quality and safety standards.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in direct patient care.
  • Proven experience in health data analysis or managing health information systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical thinking and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

The following will be considered an added advantage:

  • A postgraduate degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Experience in health quality management, case management, or project management within the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Oversee and coordinate the submission and monitoring of Annual Returns (AR) and the Early Warning System (EWS) for health establishments.
  • Help develop and implement operational guidelines, procedures, and protocols for these systems.
  • Monitor and verify that all submitted data is complete, accurate, and provided on time to ensure high data quality.
  • Provide technical support to health facilities and internal teams.
  • Maintain and monitor the national register of health establishments.
  • Perform other related tasks as required by the unit.
