Role Overview

As the Assistant Director for General Risk, you will be responsible for managing risk assessment processes and ensuring the organization maintains high standards of integrity and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and advise the department on risk management assessment processes.
  • Monitor and review identified risk responses and mitigation activities.
  • Lead education and awareness campaigns through workshops and individual interviews.
  • Provide secretariat services to the Risk Management Committee (RMC) and ensure the committee meets its official mandates.

Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate plus a recognized undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Risk Management, Security Management, or Internal Audit.
  • At least three years of experience in Risk Management at a supervisory level.
  • A valid driver’s license (accommodations made for people with disabilities).

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Leadership: Strong skills in people management, strategic planning, and change management.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the legislative frameworks governing the Public Service.
  • Administration: Proficient in policy analysis, financial problem-solving, time management, and computer literacy.
