The Limpopo Department of Social Development is committed to transforming society by building conscious and capable citizens. We are currently seeking a professional and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Director for Governance Services.

Role Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing governance processes and ensuring the department complies with all relevant laws and internal policies. You will help manage risks, coordinate audits, and build the capacity of our staff regarding internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage systems for internal controls and compliance.
  • Oversee governance processes to ensure the department follows all policies and regulations.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and create plans to manage them.
  • Coordinate and support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Design and lead training programs for staff on governance and internal controls.

Job Requirements

  • Education: A recognized qualification (NQF level 6) in Financial Accounting, Internal Auditing, or Cost and Management Accounting.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience at a supervisory or junior management level.
  • License: A valid driver’s license (except for applicants with disabilities).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Accounting and Auditing standards.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyze policies, manage budgets, and lead change.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and project management.
  • High level of ethical integrity and professional conduct.
