The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is responsible for providing public healthcare services to the people of the Western Cape province. We are looking for a dedicated professional to fill the role of Assistant Director for Health Support, focusing on Information Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: A relevant 3-year National Diploma or Degree (or an equivalent qualification).
  • Experience: Practical experience working with public health data systems. You should also have experience in training and change management.
  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Flexibility: You must be willing to travel to various districts and national offices (DOH) and be available to work overtime when necessary.

Key Competencies and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of common Electronic Health Systems used in the sector (including CCT, MHS, RHS, and SPV).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to interpret, analyze, and present complex health information clearly.
  • Strong numerical skills and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
