Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as an Assistant Director for Human Resource Management and Development. In this role, you will be responsible for managing human capital within the college, ensuring that HR strategies and policies are effectively implemented to support our organizational goals.
Key Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience within a Human Resource environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Continuing Education Act (CET Act), Public Service Regulations, and the Public Service Act.
- Strong understanding of Human Resource legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Valid PERSAL certificates will be considered an advantage.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Management: Develop and implement HR strategies and policies to improve college operations.
- HR Operations: Oversee recruitment and selection processes, manage staff conditions of service, and handle leave administration.
- Performance and Development: Coordinate performance management systems and lead staff training and development programs.
- Compliance and Advice: Ensure all HR activities follow legal frameworks and departmental guidelines. Provide expert HR advice to management and staff.
- Leadership: Supervise and mentor HR staff to ensure high performance and effective service delivery.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate HR records and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Employee Wellness: Promote sound labor relations, foster a positive culture, and introduce employee health and wellness programs.
- Budgeting: Draft and manage the Human Resources budget effectively.
